NW Frenchies is proud to offer stud service with our lilac fawn triple carrier, NW Frenchies Teddy Bear Misha. Misha is fourth generation NW Frenchies lines and brings priceless structure, health and temperament to every breeding.
Health Clearances
Misha is fully health tested and clear for the diseases recommended by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). The results are posted publicly on the OFA website, and to see them simply click on this link. We have been cleared on hip and elbow x-rays with a rating of “GOOD” on his hip x ray, and “negative” for elbow dysplasia on his elbow x ray. These x rays are done to rule out hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia. Misha’s patella was graded “Normal” to rule out patellar luxation. Misha’s thyroid blood work was graded “Normal” to rule out hypothyroidism. Misha’s heart was evaluated by a Veterinary Cardiologist to rule out heart pathologies and was given a grade of “Normal/Clear”. Misha’s eyes were evaluated by a Veterinary Optometrist to rule out eye pathologies and was given a grade of “Normal”. In addition to these tests, I have also submitted Misha’s DNA for testing of the genetic diseases Hyperuricosuria (HUU) which is a disease of the urinary system, Juvenile Hereditary Cataracts (JHC), which is a disease of the eyes, Canine Multifocal Retinopathy 1 (CMR1), which is another disease of the eyes, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), which is a neurological disease, and Cystinuria Type 3 (C3), which is a disease of the kidneys. Furthermore, Misha is tested and clear of Brucellosis, a sexually transmitted disease which causes infertility.
The Mating Process
A stud service is the mating process between a stud and a dam. There are several different routes for completing a breeding based on location and circumstances. For those local to our area (Chimacum, Washington) or willing to drive to us for an in-person breeding we are happy to offer complimentary artificial insemination (AI). While Misha is able to tie naturally, we choose not to allow our French Bulldog studs to breed naturally to prevent injury and spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
For those individuals who are out of state or are unable to come to us for an in person breeding, we are able to ship a freshly collected sample overnight via FedEx Monday thru Saturday. The collection will be carefully mixed with a ten day extender with antibiotics to ensure its viability upon arrival. Once it arrives, your can either inseminate the Bitch yourself or have your vet do the AI, transcervical insemination (TCI), or surgical insemination (SI). Shipping via FedEx and UPS typically costs $350 depending on location and day of shipment. Shipping cost is the responsibility of the Bitch owner. In some cases I can ship two separate collections depending on my studs availability.
For those out of Country, we offer frozen straws. The cost of shipping frozen semen is roughly $2,000 depending on the country. Shipping cost is the responsibility of the Bitch owner.
Regardless of how we decide to breed, I must be notified the day that she begins her heat. The first day is marked by the first drop of blood (period/menstrual cycle). The dam owner must do progesterone testing to qualify for a litter guarantee. Typically the dam owner will draw the first progesterone with their regular or fertility vet five to seven days after the first drop of blood. This test is a blood draw that measures a hormone which based on the level of the hormone, will indicate when she ovulates. We must know the day of ovulation in order to time the breeding and shipment of semen correctly. Otherwise, its like shooting in the dark with a high value breeding.
Guarantee
NW Frenchies offers a guarantee of at least two live puppies at birth to consider our stud service and contract complete as long as the Bitch owner performs progesterone testing to accurately time ovulation. If your Bitch has only one puppy, or no pregnancy altogether we will happily re-breed at no additional charge during her next season. Those requiring shipment of semen will be responsible for shipping costs. If your Bitch fails to conceive for a second time we request that you perform extensive fertility testing before asking for a third breeding. This includes but is not limited to, ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries, vaginal swab, and blood work including thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) to rule out infertility in the Bitch. If at the third breeding the Bitch fails to conceive then our contract is completed. We will not send any additional semen, nor live breeding after three failed attempts.
Starting November 1st, NW Frenchies will include a full semen analysis with domestic shipment of semen including an evaluation of motility, morphology and sperm count. This is to ensure a high quality sample was collected.
Coat Color DNA
Misha is lilac fawn, carry a, no brindle and no pied. Meaning Misha will pass one copy of blue and one copy of cocoa to every puppy he fathers. He will pass one copy of the “a” gene to 50% of all of the puppies he fathers. He doesn’t carry cream, brindle, or pied so he won’t pass any of these color and pattern genes to any puppy he fathers. I am happy to predict potential coat colors of his offspring if you have your dams coat color DNA as well. Misha’s DNA written out is as follows:
dd coco aya EmEm NN KYKY
Consistent Productions
Misha is a proven producer, meaning he has successfully fathered litters of puppies. Misha consistently passes his girth, wrinkles, sweet personality, and clear breathing onto his puppies. Misha’s puppies also get his photogenic angel face- this feature cannot be overstated because ultimately we are looking to place these puppies with loving homes. And how to puppy homes find their forever puppy? Let me tell you, by falling in love with an adorable picture of a puppy. That’s exactly what Misha will produce, adorable puppies;) Below are a few of Misha’s offspring.
A few final notes…
Misha’s stud fee is $3,000 and due in full at the time of breeding for side-by-side AI, due in full along with shipping costs before shipping semen for both freshly collected and chilled semen as well as frozen semen. The stud fee along with shipping cost is never refundable in part or in full for any reason. The stud owner will not be held responsible for any veterinary or any other fees incurred by the Bitch owner as a result of this breeding. The Bitch owner understands that they assume and are prepared for the possible outcomes, risks and costs involved with breeding. The Bitch owner understands and puts themselves at the mercy of mothernature, shipping speed, vet expertise, etc when breeding their female. Furthermore, the Bitch owner understands that once any shipped semen is dropped off with FedEx, or for frozen semen with the semen bank, that the stud owner no longer has control over the semen. All of this being said, we have extremely high sucess rates and Misha’s productions speak for themselves. Sending all of my hugs and my love from NW Frenchies <3
